HiveBio envisions a future where funding opportunities for minority-owned life science startups flourish, breaking down barriers and fostering global representation.

Cohort #1 has been made possible at no cost to participants, thanks to the generous support of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation

By empowering entrepreneurs from all backgrounds, we aim to create a more inclusive and innovative biotech ecosystem. Designed to support early-stage biotech entrepreneurs, our program provides the resources, mentorship, and connections you need to grow, scale, and make a lasting impact.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
GEOGRAPHY
To apply for Cohort 1, you must live in the Greater Philadelphia area, including:

  • Philadelphia County

  • Bucks County

  • Chester County

  • Delaware County

  • Montgomery County

  • Camden County, NJ

  • Gloucester County, NJ

  • Burlington County, NJ

COMPANY TYPES

  • Biopharma & Drug Development – Therapeutics, including small molecules, biologics, gene and cell therapies, and precision medicine approaches
     

  • Medical Devices & Diagnostics – FDA-regulated medical devices, diagnostic tools, or lab testing innovations.
     

  • Digital Pharma & Precision Medicine – AI, machine learning, or digital tools that enhance drug development, personalized medicine, or clinical trial efficiency
     

  • Healthcare Data & AI for Life Sciences – Leveraging real-world evidence, predictive analytics, or AI for clinical decision support in life sciences
